A First in the Nation: Universal Free Meal Program

West Valley–Mission Community College District (WVMCCD) is making history with the launch of the nation’s first universal free meal program at a U.S. community college. In partnership with Thomas Cuisine, every in-person student at West Valley College and Mission College now has access to at least one freshly prepared, scratch-made meal every school day—at no cost.

This groundbreaking initiative is paired with the grand opening of newly renovated cafés and coffee shops on both campuses, designed to meet evolving student needs and create welcoming spaces for dining, connection, and community.
