Two SANDF soldiers have been killed and 20 others wounded following a mortar attack on a base in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The army personnel are stationed there as part of a SADC force to help the government fight M23 rebels. Another South African soldier was killed in May while two others died in February. SA National Defence Union's Adv. Pikkie Greeff says it is unacceptable to lose soldiers due to a lack of resources and finances. "The government needs to explain to the families involved," he says.
