What my journey through violence prevention taught me | Leah Hendrickson | TEDxPioneerParkKids

Lessons learned from this young leader's development of sexual assault prevention and mental health awareness programs. Leah Hendrickson is a 2021 graduate of South Dakota State University. She is pursuing her Masters in Social Work at the University of South Dakota. Leah is a correctional officer and mental health professional. Leah created the Sexual Assault Prevention & survivor Support Program in 2018. She has received numerous awards for her work including presenting at the American Public Health Association's 2020 National Conference. Leah is currently creating the Brookings County Detention Center's first in-house mental health program.
