Vertical launch technology is being developed and tested as part of the UK's Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM) work. CAMM would provide the basis of the Royal Navy's projected Future Local Area Air Defense System, as well as a replacement to the Rapier air-defense system. CAMM will also provide a development path for MBDA's Asraam imaging infrared-guided air-to-air missile.
