ABOUT THE BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL CRUISE TERMINAL
The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal has been designed specifically to accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world. The 208m wharf was built to accommodate the largest cruise ships in the world. Passengers can safely travel between their vessel and the terminal building via one of two passenger boarding bridges and the 270m elevated walkway.

The terminal building is set over two storeys, with an undercover plaza area and outdoor waterfront promenade. And, with over 900 paid car parking spaces, you can also safely and conveniently park and cruise.

For years, cruise ships longer than 270m had to call at the Port of Brisbane’s cargo terminals, being too large to turn around any further upstream. Globally, cruise ships are getting larger, meaning Brisbane needed a new, purpose-built home for cruising. Without it, the bigger ships could potentially sail past the city altogether.

The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal project was approved by the State Government in October 2017 under its Market-led Proposal framework - a project that would transform cruising out of Brisbane.

CONSTRUCTION
Construction commenced in late 2017, beginning with site surcharging and ground improvement works on the greenfield site, before works on the wharf and terminal building commenced in 2018.

Together with our principal contractors, we supported many south-east Queensland jobs, sub-contractors and consultants - on average, 245 jobs during each year of construction. The project reached practical completion in mid-2020.

The new cruise terminal is welcoming passengers from all over the world, helping them enjoy their holidays on the world’s biggest cruise lines. Long-term, the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal will help grow Brisbane and Queensland’s cruise tourism industry, supporting jobs, economic growth and attracting more visitors to south-east Queensland.
