Quirky Funk Rock Bass Grooves

Описание к видео Quirky Funk Rock Bass Grooves

Funky good times with some quirky grooves with staccato thumb/fingerstyle plucking, ghost notes, fun riffing, harmonics and strumming. I’m playing my fretted Cortex bass with Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings, a Rodenberg 707b booster and a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor. The signal was recorded with the DI of my Eich T-1000 amp, straight into a Focusrite Scarlett into my laptop. Drums are made with Addictive Drums in Cubase, mastering with Ozone 9. Camera is a JVC Everio on a cymbal stand :)
My videos are shot in one take, I like the challenge of real-time performance, so I don’t do edits. I choose to practice for weeks before shooting these videos, what you see is what you get.
These days many content creators choose to either shoot many short takes and edit them together, or seem to be miming on a previously recorded audio track. Some big online players shamelessly take the credit for their playback videos as if it’s a real-time achievement. I think it’s hilarious, people believe anything these days and money & ego driven creators have free play, much alike the current mainstream music industry. It’s important that especially young players understand this, music shouldn’t be perfect. Feel, attitude and groove come from the heart, not from computers. Gladly there are still so many amazing musicians out there doing their thing, probably more than ever, shout out to everyone who’s keeping it real!
