This song is about the Monday to Friday, nine-to-five grind. Singer Jack wrote it when working for a construction company, feeling that grafting on site was acknowledgment that a career in music was likely over. The song however, takes on a positive more optimistic meaning, addressing that sometimes we have to join the grind and that working might ultimately sustain our ambitions. It’s a frank and honest message wrapped in an upbeat indie anthem, with some fierce blues guitar.
