On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the Troy BID brought mouthwatering BBQ, creative flavors, and downtown favorites all in one day. This year’s PIG OUT lineup was stacked with local legends and new contenders ready to win the vote of BBQ fans and lovers of luscious foods cooked outdoors, in Troy, NY.


There was a 🌭 Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Famous Lunch as part of the PIG OUT festival, and 🎶 Live Music All Day at the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District PIG OUT!


WRGB CBS 6 News, Albany, WTEN, and our gourmet food, lifestyle, and travel media outlet, TASTE AND SHOP magazine / #TasteofSchenectadyandBeyond, covered the event… The weather was perfect for this festival of BBQ food and family fun!


After the Troy PIG OUT on Sunday, August 17, 2025, we decided between Friday, August 22nd., and Sunday, August 24, 2025, to go visit a few of the restaurants that participated at this year's Troy PIG OUT... We drove to Troy on Friday, August 22, 2025, and visited Bootleggers on Broadwayy only to find out that the restaurant does NOT offer the BBQ they served at the Troy Pig Out on their regular dining menu — very disappointing! We were delighted to dine at Dotty Lou’s BBQ on Saturday, August 23, 2025, and Hill Creek Tavern on Sunday, August 24, 2025, for their Smoked Meats menu!
