Kubitarou's appearance and name are based on the Japanese story of Kintarō, a young boy with superhuman strength who wielded an axe and was a friend to animals.

A young member of the Amanome Family. On their Shinza turf, he blusters with the expected big attitude. He tries hard, but makes a lot of mistake; but his clown-like quality makes it hard to dislike him.

We first meet him trying to solicit Kaoru Hazuki at the station before being beaten up by Akira Kijima as he was passing by.

He grew up in Kintoki and ran a motorcycle gang before joining the yakuza. He was the starting point for their information in the Kubitarou of Kintoki case. He appears close with his family as he mentioned stories his grandmother told him about Kubitarou and his sister telling him about the recent dog murders.

While waiting for Akira and Seiji at the Kintoki Towers he opened the well, alerting Kurobitou. His head was decapitated by Kubitarou and stuffed with plastic toys before having a toy dog head placed over the top where his head used to be. His death greatly shakes up the trio as he was someone they knew.

He is fiercely loyal to Seiji Amanome who is often annoyed at and abuses him. He is happy if Seiji praises him for getting them useful information. He disobeys Seiji’s orders when he is worried about Seiji and Akira going after Kubitarou which annoys Seiji. However Seiji was shown to be anguished by his death and swore revenge on Kubitarou.

Like Ami, he's a huge fan of Momo Kuruse. Whenever he's drunk, he tells tales from his days as the leader of a motorcycle gang which sounds all made up.
