RULES:

-Only Kanto Pokémon can be used in battle
-If a Pokémon faints it cannot be used in battle again
-Only 1 Pokémon may be caught in each area
-Battle items cannot be used in battle (Held items are allowed)
-The game must be played in set mode
-Level caps tied to the next important Trainer's Ace
-Species Clause (Can't use the same Pokémon or from the same line twice, doesn't count split evolutions)
-Set up moves cannot be used (moves like Flame Charge or Trailblaze can be used if they are good choices as damaging moves)
-Shiny Clause: If a Shiny Pokémon appears (as long as it is an elegible encounter), it may be swapped for a repeat of the same species, or that route's encounter.
-No EV training (on purpose, EVs gathered normally throughout the game do NOT count towards this rule)
