George Galloway is due to be sworn in as new Rochdale MP in House of Commons.

After the new member takes the oath, there will be oral questions on Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

Q1. What steps he is taking to support rough sleepers and homeless people to move into accommodation.

Q2. What steps he is taking to reform business rates.

Q3. What assessment he has made of the impact of the Levelling Up Fund on local communities.

Q4. If he will take steps to improve the mechanisms available to local planning authorities for tackling breaches of planning controls by Gypsies and Travellers.

Q5. If he will make a comparative assessment of trends in (a) the level of local government financial settlements and (b) the number of cars damaged as a result of potholes in the last 10 years.

Q6. What steps he is taking to tackle Islamophobia.

Q7. What assessment he has made of the potential impact of section 21 evictions on levels of homelessness.

Last week the new MP said the Prime Minister was playing a “very dangerous game” that could drive young Muslims on to the “rocks of extremism” after his speech on Friday.

Rishi Sunak said Mr Galloway’s resounding victory in the Rochdale by-election on Thursday was “beyond alarming” during an address to the nation from Downing Street.

The Conservative Party leader said Mr Galloway “dismisses the horror of what happened on October 7” during Hamas’s raids on Israel, and claimed he “glorifies Hezbollah”, the proscribed Lebanese military outfit which is involved in frequent skirmishes with Israel.

In his by-election victory speech, Mr Galloway — a former Labour and Respect MP, who now leads the Workers Party of Britain — announced that his win was “for Gaza” after a feisty and chaotic campaign dominated by the Middle East conflict.
