Glass vs. Plastic Welding Filters | TIG Time

TIG welding requires the welder to be able to focus in on the puddle and see fine detail when completing a weld. As you get older, your eyesight begins to diminish, which is why many welders turn to cheater lenses to get the job done. However, many welders are spending in excess of $300 for state of the art welding helmets and filters only to throw a plastic $10 cheater in front of it. If you are looking to get the best possible clarity when welding, it's time you check out the glass cheater lenses.

In this video, we are going to try and demonstrate the clarity difference by putting the plastic cheater in front of our camera lens and then do the same weld with a glass cheater lens. Hopefully you will be able to see the difference on camera.
