LEGO Making of Cardan Shaft Drive Train 推進軸駆動レゴトレイン

Описание к видео LEGO Making of Cardan Shaft Drive Train 推進軸駆動レゴトレイン

In this video, how to make body mounted cardan shaft drive train is shown.
Various kinds of colour bricks are used to distinguish pieces easily and hopefully helpful to build the train with your own bricks.

The motor is mounted on train body and the rotation is transmitted through gearbox (body mounted), cardan shaft, final gearbox (inside bogie) and wheels.

The length of train is 24 studs (train base #92088 is used), so it is easy to incorporate this mechanism into your own LEGO train.
LEGO train motor (9V, Power function and also Powered up) is 10-stud-length and this sometimes deteriorates train looks because the bogie will be too big (or too long) for 24-stud-length train.
The benefit of this drive mechanism is that both the length of driving bogie and trailing bogie will be the same (6-stud-length).

In Europe, ETR450, ETR460 and ETR600 (Pendolino family) in Italy, APT in the UK and so on are equipped with this mechanism.
Besides in Japan, most of diesel passenger trains are equipped with diesel engines under their body and drive bogie mounted gearboxes via cardan shafts.
