Air pollution is one of the major environmental issues. It can cause adverse health effects such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases and high mortality rates. High population density is a huge contributory factor of air pollution in cities and urbanized areas.
The air pollution path of the urban atmosphere consists of emission and transmission of air pollutants resulting in the ambient air pollution. Each part of the path is influenced by different factors. Emissions from motor traffic are a very important source group throughout the world. During transmission, air pollutants are dispersed, diluted and subjected to photo chemical reactions.
The government continues to develop guidelines for air quality and ordinances to restrict emissions in an effort to control air pollution. On an individual level, we can reduce our contribution to the pollution problem by carpooling or using public transportation. Additionally, buying energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances or otherwise reducing our electricity use will reduce the pollutants released in the production of electricity, which creates the majority of industrial air pollution
