In this post, we will see about a beautiful mountain village called Takmachik, located in the Indus valley in the Himalayas.Located at an altitude of 9500 feet above the sea level, this village can be said to be heaven on earth.
Takmachik is a village in the Leh district of the Indian union territory of Ladakh.It is located in the Khalsi tehsil, around 14 km from the Khaltsi and 112 km west of the district headquarters Leh.
In August 2011, Tamakchik was formally launched as a tourist destination by the Ladakh Environment and Health Organization (LEHO). LEHO also held a workshop on Organic farming and Sustainable village Development to promote organic cultivation in the village.
Described as the first eco-model village of Ladakh, Tamachik is known for its authentic Ladakhi food and traditional culture. The Student Association for Village Environment (SAVE) -Takmachik is a local organization that maintains cleanliness and hygiene in the village.
Takmachik is located at an altitude of 2878 m (9500 feet) above sea level. It is the first village after Khaltse on the approach road to Domkhar and situated opposite the road leading to Kargil via Dah-Hanu belt along the Indus river.
The farmers along with organic farming method also promote tourism in the village. Producing tastier and healthier food items, the farmers along with generating a good level of income are also setting up an example for many.
Takmachik has very fertile soil which proves a boon to the farmer because whatever is sown is easily grown. There are two cultivating seasons annually here. The first crop season starts in mid of March and the second in the month of June –July.
Earlier, the variety of productivity was very limited but today, they cultivate wheat, peas, barley, and buckwheat in crops and along with locally grown vegetables like turnip, radish, and cabbage seasonal vegetables like brinjal, capsicum and tomatoes are easily grown. In fruits varieties of apricot and apples, plum, cherries, walnut, and watermelon are grown. The watermelon of Takmachik became famous in Ladakh because of its sugar-sweet watery taste and size.
Apricot is exported outside as per their demand whereas the rest are sold locally.
இந்த பதிவில் இமயமலையில் சிந்துவெளி பள்ளதாக்கில் அமைந்திருக்கும் தக்மாச்சிக் என்னும் ஒரு அழகிய மலை கிராமத்தை பற்றி பார்க்கலாம். கடல் மட்டத்தில் இருந்து 9500அடி உயரத்தில் அமைந்திருக்கும் இந்த கிராமம் பூலோகத்தின் சொர்கம் என்றே சொல்லலாம்.
தக்மாச்சிக் என்பது இந்திய யூனியன் பிரதேசமான லடாக்கின் லே மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு கிராமம். இது கல்சியில் இருந்து 14 கிமீ தொலைவிலும், மாவட்டத் தலைமையகமான லேவிலிருந்து மேற்கே 112 கிமீ தொலைவிலும், கல்சி தெஹ்சிலில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
