Hey everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer and today we have the Stromberg Carlson Campfire Grill also called the Stake and Grill. So if you're planning on having a campfire but you still wanna cook up a meal or you're just not in the mood to bring out a whole grill and gas and propane to the campsite, well a campfire grill like this can come in handy. With this being this stake and grill all you really need is your campfire pit, your logs and wood and fuel as well as your food, then you get to set this up. Ideally, you'll want a patch of dirt outside of your campfire where you can stake this pole down. So notice where we have the stabilizer as well as the pointy end that's going down into the ground. So drive that pole into the ground.

You can then use that stabilizer to step on it put that weight there and once you're in there and your base is set up if you feel like you need to drive it down even more I like to use a piece of wood to bring it further down. Here we have our grate. This has a chrome finish to make it easier to clean off after you've cooked with it. This fits over your stake pole. Now this does lock technically once you have it in the down position with weight pressing down, it's locked.

If you wanna adjust the height you hold this handle and you lift it up from the back. So that leverage allows you to move it up and down. Just give it a little tug if you wanna make sure it's locked. Once your grate is in the locked position that's when you put your food on. And just be mindful of where you might accidentally hit the grill.

So like any side to side movement, that's fine 'cause designed to pivot any movement on the grate, that's fine too. If you accidentally hit it in that down position you might lose all your food. So that height adjustment gives you a little bit of control over the heat that you are applying to your food. But you can also spin this around. So let's say the food is cooking, you don't need heat.

Pivot it to the side, you need to warm things up again pivot it back into the fire. So the stake is 36 inches long, which helps you figure out if you have enough clearance over your campfire. And the grate has a weight capacity of five pounds. So just be mindful of that as you're loading this up with your meat, veggies, and food not to exceed that weight. There's raised edges along the cookware. That way your food doesn't slide out. And as long as you stake this down properly it will sit level so that your hot dogs don't roll off. So quick tips when using the grate. I do recommend using cooking spray on the grate. That way there's less cleanup after cooking. While cooking, grease will fall onto your campfire and sparks may occur. I do recommend having a glove or something to protect your hands because the handle of the grates will get hot as this cooks. So be mindful of that. And when you're done cooking and you're ready to tear down the camp, you do have this nylon bag for storage of your grate as well as your pole. Now, after cleaning this please make sure it's completely dry. That way that can prevent mold from growing on the grate. And then when you do insert it into the bag this will help keep everything nice, clean and ready for next time. There is a pocket for the stake as well that fits into there. And it also has this hook and loop strap to secure it. You may have a little bit of space inside of the bag if you wanna put other items in there like a scouring sponge, maybe your oven mitts things you would use while cooking. So the entire kit weighs 10 pounds and it is nice that it's all portable and compact with the bag. I would've preferred maybe a little strap so I could carry it over my shoulder as I'm carrying other campsite items. But still, at least it has the handles which makes it easy to grab. So if you're already planning on building a campfire once you get to the campsite and you'd prefer not to have to bring a whole grill and gas and fuel, then this is a great way to take advantage of that campfire so you can still have your food, you can still boil water, make your coffee and tea in the morning and have everything in one place. If anything, just remember that you do need to bring the firewood as well as the ingredients for the food. And if you do wanna boil things, find something lightweight so you don't overweight that grate. But this right here was a look at the Stromberg Carlson Campfire Sta
