This video describes the common precautions that should be taken after undergoing a "Posterior" total hip replacement surgery.

The muscles and tissue around the hip joint are weaker and the hip can be dislocated easily after undergoing a total hip replacement surgery.
Until the muscles and ligaments have had time to heal, you must follow these hip precautions:

1. Do not bent forward past 90 degrees
2. Do not cross legs or ankles in standing, sitting and laying down position ( No aduction of hips)
3. Do not twist the hip.
4. Use pillow in between your legs to avoid crossing midline of the body by the operated leg.
5. No truck flexion or side bending.
