The original Super Mario Bros video game is 40 years old, this is a nostalgic tribute montage which celebrates all the mainline Mario games from Nintendo, both the 2D and 3D Mario games.

This 3-4 minute is a tribute sizzle reel, or video montage or AMV. And it features the 2d Mario Bros games from the NES which had Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Peach, Bowser and other iconic characters. Super Mario World from SNES or Super Nintendo introduced Yoshi the dinosaur. The iconic game Super Mario 64 from the N64 is here and it was Mario's jump from 2D side scrolling video games to 3D Open World sandbox type games. The Gameboy games are also represented like Super Mario Land and its sequel Mario Land 2 the Six Golden Coins. Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube is here with its tropical setting and hard difficulty. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 for Wii sent Mario into space and introduced Princess Rosalina. Super Mario 3D World and Mario 3D Land were delightfully linear games on Wii U and 3DS. The New Super Mario Bros games, for various Nintendo consoles and handhelds, where fun games albeit a bit formulaic. And Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Wonder for the Nintendo Switch were innovative entries in the series.

Mario is one of the best franchises in video game history and is Nintendo's mascot and most successful series of videogames. Congratulations to Nintendo, and to Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto. I hope this nostalgic video brings you many fond memories of Super Mario and brings you happiness and nostalgia.
