Can your injury lawyer take a fee on your TTD (Temporary Total Disability) and your PPD (Permanent Partial Disability)? The short answer is yes — but only under certain conditions.

Lawyers are only allowed to collect their 20% fee on disputed amounts — meaning money they actually fought to recover for you. If your lawyer had to hustle, file a 19(b) petition, or go back and forth with the other side to get your TTD benefits started, then yes, they can take a fee on that too.

But if no fight was needed? No fee on that part.
