Hello! Welcome to New England Ambiance. Today we're doing a quick trip to my favorite museum, The Clark, or as it's also known as, The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts in the far northwestern corner of the Berkshires.

When I lived in the area as a kid, we would go on school field trips here all the time. Then, as an adult, I moved away for a few decades, but now that I'm back, this is honestly my favorite museum I've been to in the whole world. It's kind of like a "best of" album for art. Do you want to see Monet? They've got lots. Manet? Yup. Singer Sargent? Some of his best. Matisse, Homer, Pissarro, Renoir? Amazing paintings by all of them.

Their collection is also a lot more than just paintings as they have pottery, silver, medieval art, sculptures, and modern art. They also have one of the largest research libraries in the US with over 300,000 volumes in over 130 languages.

They also have interesting musical performances and movies, and also art classes.

The Clark is situated on 140 acres and has extensive walking and hiking trails all over their property.


It's truly worth the visit if you're anywhere near the Berkshires.
