Boris Spassky breaks the Iron man

Featured is the 19th game from the 1969 World Chess Championship match between Boris Spassky and Tigran Petrosian. The opening is a Sicilian Defense, Najdorf with 6. Bg5. Initially, the play by “Iron Tigran” may seem to be solid after the first 14 moves. However, with Spassky's 15th move, Petrosian is reminded of a serious drawback with his earlier h6, particularly in an opposite sides castles scenario. Spassky's energetic play on the kingside led to a swift and rare 24-move defeat of the defending World Chess Champion, Petrosian.
