Introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Wales

In collaboration with Keep Wales Tidy, and Friends of the Earth Cymru, Reloop hosted an event at the Senedd to discuss the Welsh Government's intention to introduce a deposit return scheme that includes PET bottles, metal cans, and glass bottles.

The event was sponsored by Delyth Jewell MS, and guest speakers included Sian Sykes, who described the devastating extent of littered drinks containers she saw as she circumnavigated her way around Wales on a stand-up paddle board.

Huw Irranca-Davies, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs, also joined us, who confirmed his commitment to an ambitious deposit return scheme for Wales.

This event was a great opportunity to celebrate the exciting opportunities offered by Deposit Return in tackling the climate and nature crises.
