Hilsha Fish Curry | Ilish Fish Recipe | Fish Curry
Ingredients
1) Hilsha / Ilish Fish - 4-5 pieces
2) Mustard Paste -2 tblspns
3) Poppy seeds Paste - 2 tspns
4) Turmeric Powder - 1 tspn
5) Red chilli powder -1 tspn
6) Salt - According to taste
7) Nigella Seeds -1 tspn
8 ) Green Chillies -4-5
9) Mustard Oil -2-3 tblspns

Preparation time-5 -6 minutes
Cooking time -8-10 minutes

Method Of Cooking
Step -1
Mix the Mustard paste (black) and the Poppy seeds paste together in a bowl. Add a small glass of water to it and mix thoroughly. Keep it aside.

Step -2
Mix the Turmeric powder,salt and the Red Chilli powder together by adding two spoons of water.

Step -3
Heat the Mustard Oil in a pan and add the NIgella seeds. Tear 2-3 green Chillies and add to the oil. When it turns aromatic add the salt , Turmeric and Red Chili powder mixture to it. Keep stirring by adding little portions of water until the oil starts leaving by the edges. At this stage add the Hilsha pieces.Cook from both the sides for 3-4 minutes. When the Hilsha pieces are shallow fried ,strain the mustard -poppy seeds miture into it. Cook for 3-4 minutes more . Garnish it with green chillies and serve it hot with Rice.
Delicious and Yummy Hilsha or Ilish is ready to be served.
