Buddha Park, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is a significant cultural and spiritual landmark located in Ravangla, South Sikkim, India. This park is renowned for its majestic 130-foot statue of Gautama Buddha, which is a prominent symbol of peace and spirituality in the region.

Overview of Buddha Park
Location: Approximately 1 km north of Ravangla town, nestled in the scenic backdrop of the Himalayas.

Inauguration: The park was inaugurated in 2013 to commemorate the 2550th birth anniversary of Buddha, with the statue consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama on March 25, 2013.

Design: The statue is constructed from 60 tonnes of copper and is designed in the bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching posture), symbolizing enlightenment. The park features beautifully landscaped gardens, winding pathways, and a serene atmosphere conducive to meditation and reflection.

Key Attractions
Statue of Buddha: The centerpiece of the park, the statue is visible from various parts of South and West Sikkim, serving as a pilgrimage site for many.

Museum and Meditation Center: The park includes a museum that narrates the life of Buddha through a spiral gallery, and a meditation center that welcomes both tourists and monks.

Cho Djo Lake: A tranquil lake located within the park's premises, surrounded by lush greenery, adding to the park's natural beauty.

Visiting Information
Timings: The park is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Entry Fees: The entrance fee is INR 50 for Indian citizens and INR 100 for foreign visitors. Additional charges may apply for photography and videography.

Best Time to Visit: The ideal months for visiting are from April to June for pleasant weather and blooming flowers, while September to November offers stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas.

How to Reach
By Road: Ravangla is approximately 63 km from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, and can be reached by taxi or shared transport. The park is within walking distance from the main town.

By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, located about 126 km away. From there, visitors can take a taxi or bus to Ravangla.

By Train: The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri, approximately 122 km from Ravangla.
