California Penal Code 241c PC, sometimes called PC 241c, or just 241c PC, is the statute that makes assault on a police officer a crime. Assault on a police officer is a more serious crime than simple assault, which is made illegal under Penal Code 241.

The crime of assault is defined as "using force" such as punching, kicking, or throwing a rock at someone. But the crime of assault also occurs when you attempt to use force against someone, such as trying to punch someone but missing.

Simple assault against a regular citizen who is not a cop, is punishable by fines, and up to 6 months in jail if convicted. However PC 241c, assault on a police officer, is more serious, and is punishable by up to 1 year in jail.
