I was going to do a separate show about Acts 2:26-27 due to questions I am receiving about the 2013 NWT Revision translation of Acts 2:26. But, at this point, I do not believe it is necessary. Why?

I already addressed these issues related to how Jesus was first raised to life as a “spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45), in which state he preached to other “spirits” (1 Peter 3:18-19), after which (and on the third day after his death) he raised up his physical body which was ‘living in hope’ and did not “see decay,” in fulfillment of David’s prophecy from Psalms 16:8-10, which is applied to Jesus’ in Acts 2:25-27.

As for the difference in the translation of Acts 2:26 between the 1984 Reference Edition NWT (“my flesh will reside in hope”) and the more recent 2013 NWT Revision (“I will reside in hope”), you are on your own. I see no credible defense for the 2013 NWT translation of this text, and I believe it is going to cause massive problems for Watchtower supporters for no good reason. This is truly unfortunate…

However, since I do not trust or try to please humans (Psalm 146:3-5; Galatians 1:10), or support bad translations of biblical texts, it is not my problem. I recommend at this time Jehovah’s Witnesses associated with the Watchtower Society use only pre-2013 NWTs. Otherwise, don’t come to me about your 2013 NWT problems. Go to the Society and let them answer for what they have published.
