I usually ask a version of this question to all of the leaders that I speak to “how do you find and maintain stability in all the chaos?” When I asked Veronica Hernandez, General Manager of the Modesto Nuts, this question, I found her response so refreshing. “I think the simple answer is ‘I don’t.’”

As perfectionists striving to be at the top of our game at all times, we want to be and do the best we can. As life-long learners, we need to find ways that we can be better and know more.

Is this the key building better community? Is this the key to being a great leader? Is this the key to building strong teams?

The truth is, I still don’t know. But this inspires me to keep trying to be better and find ways to continuously improve. Why be perfect when you can be better?
