During the first few months of Covid lockdowns, some musical artists started putting out "Live from Home" videos, where each band member would record themselves playing their part of a series of songs, and then they'd be stitched together in post to create a "live" performance. Probably my favorite example is TesseracT's:    • TesseracT - Live In The Lockdown  

Being a one-man band myself, this seemed like an obvious thing that I should try. However, at the time, I had only ever created my songs using a mouse-and-keyboard in a digital audio workstation. This meant I had never learned my songs on the real instruments, even though I play all the instruments themselves.

That bothered me, so for this album I decided to give myself a few rules:
1) No programming instruments (except drums). Everything must be performed on instruments.
2) All continuous takes. No mixing takes or cutting/pasting parts. Each instrument on each track must be a single, continuous take (doesn't have to be the first take, but all one take).
3) All recording sessions must be recorded on video, to prove I really followed the above two rules, and also to create a making-of, commentary, and full album playthrough, which is available here:    • Infancy - Making Of, Commentary, and Playt...   (scheduled to come out at noon on release day)

The end result is an album I'm really proud of and excited to show you! Please enjoy "Infancy"!
