It makes sound! The soprano ukulele finally has strings on it. These last few steps turned this project into a working instrument. I shaped the bone nut and saddle, installed the tuning machines, and then tied on some strings. I might still make some small adjustments to the string notches on the nut and to the shape of the saddle, but the soprano ukulele is done.
