The community around Lake Lyell really does need help from those that use the lake, those that admire the lake and those that just don't understand why big energy companies are happy to destroy the environment in the name of making profits.

The excavation of the iconic Mt Walker southern ridge to around 40 metres deep (comparable to a 12 story building) and replacing it with an equivalent concrete wall just does not make sense. It will result in total, and permanent, destruction of a large section of virgin landscape within full view of residential areas and the Great Western Highway at Lithgow. All all passersby will gasp at the size, proximity and lack of respect for residents and tourists alike.

Lake Lyell is arguably one of the most beautiful dams in NSW. It is home to a healthy platypus population, turtles, birds, water rats (to name a few) all of which will be negatively impacted by this proposal. The recreational use of the dam will be severely affected with water that raises and falls 2 metres or more everyday.

THIS IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECOLOGICAL DISASTER IN THE MAKING AND IT IS PERMANENT!

WE CAN STOP IT with large numbers of people who may help the resistance.
