Gatsby (South Africa) on Sandwiches of History⁣

For today’s International Sandwich Sunday we’re headed to South Africa for the Gatsby. Created in the 70s by a guy who wanted to quickly feed workers who were work on his shop, it has apparently grown to be a well-known international sandwich. Not only that, there seem to be a million variations. For the one I’m doing today, like the original, I am using achaar which is a mango pickle (albeit I opted for a hot version). And I’m also using bologna because the original polony isn’t exactly widely available.
