After releasing them from quarantine, I give my kittens (or puppies) freedom in small increments. The Minis started out in the incubator, then moved to a quarantine pen, and later to a pen in the living room for initial integration.

After they met the other kitties, I let them explore the hallway to play and mingle. I never give them full run of the house right away—they also need time to learn where the litter boxes are.

When I introduced them to the Kitty Corner, where the big lizard window is, I blocked off the area so I could contain and monitor them, and so they could learn where the box is. Once they had it down, I removed the pen and they were finally free!

Even though this is basically GB’s window, he usually gets a little uncomfortable at first when new kits move in. So I make sure he gets lots of treats!
