The lecturer in this series is Prof. Dan Ridley-Ellis. He is head of the Centre Wood Science and Technology at Edinburgh Napier University. He is one of the UK’s technical experts on guessing the strength of wood and his main area of research is understanding the properties of wood, and how they are influenced by tree growth, forest management, and climate. Applied mechanics of wood materials video series is filmed in Aalto University in 2024 starring various expert scientists and Professors. Dr. Steven Collins is the developer, producer, and editor.
