【AICHI JAPAN】BREAKFAST SPECIAL at a Cake Shop & Flower in Toyohashi ～Matterhorn / Wisteria～

Introducing the Breakfast Special of Café, familiar in the morning of Toyohashi City, Aichi, Japan. This time, I am visiting "Matterhorn Toyohashi Main Shop" (a cake shop). After the breakfast, I took a short drive to "Kamo Iris Garden", and enjoyed the flower viewing of wisteria, which had just reached its peak.

"Matterhorn" is a long-established cake shop in Toyohashi City. Since its founding in 1974, it has been familiar to many Toyohashi citizens for half a century. Starting with the flagship product "Matterhorn" and the well-known "Damier", all the Western sweets lined up in the showcase are reasonably priced. However, although the taste is orthodox and simple, it is a convincing deliciousness that makes you say, "This is it!" The interior of their tea room is classical. The age group of customers who use it is a little higher. I have the impression that there are many regular customers. Both the taste of the cake and the atmosphere of the shop are as polite as they were in the old days, and it is understandable that they continue to be loved by men and women of all ages.
During the "Breakfast Special", when you order a drink, you get a delicious piece of cake (or pastry) from the shop, and during the "Tea Time", they offer a great value set menu, both of which are very popular. In addition to cakes, you can also purchase western confectionery such as baked sweets and chocolates at the sales corner, which you can ask to wrap them in retro and stylish wrapping paper. This is also recommended.
There is a shop with the same name at "Gakugeidaigaku Station" (Tokyo), and the owner trained at both the shop and a pastry shop in Switzerland, so he named "Matterhorn" when opening a shop in his hometown Toyohashi.

After that, I went to "Kamo Iris Garden" to see the wisteria flowers. "Kamo Iris Garden" is famous for its irises, but the wisteria trellis is also recommended. Shortly before the irises bloom (around the end of April), the wisteria are in full bloom, and some of them are rare. The fragrant scent of the wind passing through the wisteria trellis makes you feel very elegant.
