Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening One Night in Moaña (Official video)

From the album Cloud Horizons, this is our Northumbrian version of a Muiñeira, written after the band played at Festival Intercéltico do Morrazo, in Galicia. We had the best night, full of friendship and music. Thanks to Anahí and María for their wonderful contributions to this track - the sound of the Pandeireita (tambourine), Vieira shells & Zamburiña shells, and the “Aturuxo” (a typical shout used to animate & invigorate a tune) take us right back to our time Moaña. Thanks also to our old friend Anxo Lorenzo and all the new friends we made that night. At the end of the tune you’ll hear a little snippet of a phone-recording made in Bar Abolera at some point in the early hours when things were just getting going!
