This session covers: Data and AI are a core tool in Ocado Technology’s toolkit, enabling Ocado’s mission to ‘change the way the world shops’. Data teams work across ecommerce, logistics & supply chain, fulfilment, advanced robotics and delivery.

In an industry with picky shoppers and narrow margins, innovation is essential. But data teams can get bogged down in development - perfecting something clients or customers don’t want, or is too complex for engineers to integrate. Or they get stuck in maintenance mode. Plus it can be hard to pitch new ideas to Product colleagues, particularly when roadmaps are stacked or there isn’t a solid understanding of AI’s potential and capabilities.

Hear how Ocado Technology’s Data Strategy & Operations team set out to design the right mechanisms to identify where data & AI can drive value, and support teams to quickly - and hopefully painlessly - validate these hypotheses. Attendees will hear about projects which worked, and projects which didn’t - and the lessons learned along the way. And yes, some of this will involve experimenting with GenAI.
