Baaeed at Shadwell Stud and following a trainer at the sales | This Racing Life

It was a pleasure to visit Baaeed on the latest edition of our behind-the-scenes programme and see how the six-time Group One winner and one of the highest-rated horses of modern times is getting on in his new career as a stallion, with his first crop currently foals ahead of next year's yearling sales. We also see Mostahdaf and Mohaather!

To continue the bloodstock theme and at the start of the sales season, we head to the Goffs Sales at Doncaster with Pat Owens and shadow the Newmarket trainer as he inspects lots and takes us to the sales ring. As well as sharing hints and tips about what to look for in conformation, Owens also shares how he prepares for a sale and the challenges of the competition as a trainer with only a small amout of horses currently and one who can only buy a headful of yearlings each year.

Finally, we pop into the National Horse Racing Museum in Newmarket to hear about what's on offer and details about the recent patronage of Her Majesty The Queen.
