Fibroadenoma Breast Ultrasound Report Example | Benign Tumors USG Scan Report Findings & Impression

Ultrasound Report:

Age: 29
Indication: Palpable lump in the right breast
The ultrasound examination of both breasts was performed. The area of concern indicated by the patient in the upper outer quadrant of the right breast was closely examined.

Findings:

Right Breast: A solitary, well-defined, oval-shaped hypoechoic mass measuring approximately 2.0 x 1.5 cm was identified in the upper outer quadrant, approximately 3 cm from the nipple. The lesion demonstrated homogeneous internal echoes with smooth margins and no posterior acoustic shadowing. No evidence of calcifications within the mass. The lesion shows mild vascularity on Doppler examination, consistent with a benign process. The appearance is suggestive of a fibroadenoma. No additional masses or suspicious findings were noted in the right breast.

Left Breast: The left breast shows normal glandular tissue with no masses, cysts, or other abnormalities. The ductal architecture is unremarkable with no signs of dilation.

Axilla: No enlarged lymph nodes or abnormal findings were identified in either axilla.

Impression: The findings in the right breast are most consistent with a fibroadenoma, a benign solid tumor. The lesion exhibits typical sonographic features of a fibroadenoma, including its well-defined margins, oval shape, and homogeneous echo pattern. No suspicious features suggestive of malignancy were observed. The left breast and both axillary regions are unremarkable.

Recommendations: Given the benign appearance of the lesion and the patient's age, follow-up ultrasound in 6 months is recommended to monitor for any changes in the size or characteristics of the mass. Should the patient experience any changes in symptoms or if the mass increases in size, further evaluation including possible biopsy may be warranted for definitive diagnosis.
