Members of the Vermont State Employees' Association have proudly cared for Vermonters with severe and acute mental illness for more than 50 years, and while the job has always come with inherent dangers, these days workers at the new Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital say chronic understaffing and mandated overtime are contributing to making a bad situation even worse.

The VPCH frontline workers are asking Vermonters or anyone else watching this video to join their fight to ensure proper staffing levels on every shift as well as forcing management to institute comprehensive and well-defined safety protocols to guide the workers moving forward.
