Prior to a 1979 Monday Night Football game between the Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints, Raiders WR Cliff Branch was in a terrible spot. He was not on good terms with head coach Tom Flores, was putting up poor numbers, and was benched for this game for missing multiple practices. At his lowest point, and with his NFL career in jeopardy, Branch stunned everyone by delivering a performance for the ages, and saving his entire career. This is the story behind the MNF game that saved Cliff Branch's NFL career.
