IFR Lesson #9

Описание к видео IFR Lesson #9

IFR Lesson #9 is actually an advanced VFR Lesson but we thought the content of the end of Lesson #8 was so educational that we decided to make a separate video. In this video I'm working with Karin to try and hone her landings. Like many of us, Karin is struggling with being "in the groove" on her landings in the SR22. She is really good in the SR20 but she is struggling just a bit with the higher wing loading of the SR22 when she gets down to the last little bit of the flare and touchdown.

For the first time, I introduce Karin to the concept of using the Angle of Attack (AOA) indicator that is part of the Garmin Perspective+ avionics. The AOA offers the pilot timely and accurate AOA information which is very helpful for precise speed control.

So please watch and let us know what you think. I'm sure some of you won't agree with what I'm teaching but that's ok. My goal was to get karin to feel the proper pitch of the plane when it's in the proper landing configuration and on speed.

Hope you find this interesting, informative, thought provoking, and maybe just a bit educational!
