YM2149F Module on a Breadboard Tour

Описание к видео YM2149F Module on a Breadboard Tour

This is a quick tour of my latest module experiment on breadboard. It's based around the 3-voice YM2149F synth chip by Yamaha and the adaptation of the MS-20 filter posted on https://www.schmitzbits.de

A PT2399 delay chip circuit-bends the YM2149F's clock (thank you Juanito Moore). And is tracked by the Arduino for tuning purposes. The Arduino also sets the register settings in the YM2149F allowing VCA control through either the sound chip's built-in LFO envelopes or an Arduino-emulated ADSR.

In addition, the Arduino controls the filter's cut-off point through a separate ADSR that can be mixed with an LFO—this creates some rather interesting effects.

In order to stay in tune, the clock feeds back into the Arduino through a clock divider, and a tuner menu helps center the frequency on 4MHz.

Next step is to document this in schematic and blog form. Hopefully I can break things down in a bit more detail. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy and let me know if you have questions. :)
