MERITO Foundation - Hands-on Solutions for Youth & Ocean Health

The ocean sustains life on Earth. But the ocean faces unprecedented challenges. At the same time, youths spend less time outdoors and are experiencing higher levels of stress and anxiety.

Since 2014, the MERITO Foundation has addressed ocean and youth health issues by immersing thousands of students from Central and Southern California, ages 10-18, in transformative, hands-on experiences, most often at no cost to them. Many youths in our programs come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds where these opportunities may not be available or accessible.
