Those who follow Sufism are seen by many in the Muslim world as not being a real branch of Islam. The original Sufis wore simple wool cloaks, and in Arabic, the word Sufi means "man of wool." The name Sunni comes from the word Sunnah, referring to the behaviour of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
