Cloud, rain and some hill snow will persist across central and southern England and Wales, but it will soon clear. Most areas will then turn dry with clear skies, aside from a few showers on eastern coasts. As cold air moves in, temperatures will widely drop below freezing overnight. Scotland will fall into double‑negative figures, bringing a risk of icy conditions and severe frost.
