Chevy Retro Fit Camshaft Cam Button Adjustment

Описание к видео Chevy Retro Fit Camshaft Cam Button Adjustment

Simple way to check the end play in the crankshaft. No dial indicators needed. Got tired of no one really showing how to. Small block or big block. I been told .005 - .010 gap is needed. About the thickness of business card. Basically cam needs minor end play. Maybe sure to use cam retaining plate ($3) ! Pause video if you need to see part numbers. Button I used was a long button the steel version.

Just got tired of now one showing how to do this or easy.

Flat-tappet camshafts are machined with a slight 0.0025- to 0.005-inch taper on the face of the cam lobe that spins the lifters. This also imparts a rearward thrust to the cam. Roller cams don’t have this feature, which is why a thrust bearing or washer is necessary.
The nylon button is a piece wears well yet has no moving parts that could fail. The roller-bearing cam button is style button that uses an internal roller bearing that does not wear into the timing-chain cover. If the roller bearing falls apart, the bearings will end up in the engine. Avoid aluminum buttons, because the aluminum wears quickly.
