2 goals from Oribe Peralta helped Mexico win the men's football gold medal as they faced Brazil in the tournament's final at Wembley Stadium as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (11 August).

Hulk managed to score for Brazil to bring the final score to 2-1 but it was only enough for the silver medal as South Korea won bronze.



Football first appeared on the programme of the Games of the II Olympiad, Paris 1900. It has been on the programme of each edition of the Games ever since, with the exception of Los Angeles 1932. In 1996, women's football was introduced into the Olympic programme.
