Welcome to Parker Hannifin! This video highlights the Parker Chelsea’s e970 electric power take off. ePTOs are revolutionizing the work truck industry with their compact design that offers simplified installation and optimized efficiency. The e970 Series is the larger model of the Chelsea ePTOs. Designed to optimize efficiency and maximize run time, the highly efficient e970 Series is the next generation of power take-offs for medium-heavy duty applications.
The e970 Series produces 70kW nominal power and features the same common output and pump options customers expect with Chelsea products, including DIN, 1410 driveline, and SAE B, BB, C pump mounts.
Several of the highlights from the e910 Series will also be found in the e970 Series, including the GVM and internal lubrication system. The e970 Series utilizes the Global Vehicle Motor (GVM) from
Parker’s Hydraulic Pump and Power Systems Division, allows for configurable speeds and torques to optimize efficiency. As with the e910 Series, the e970’s major subcomponents are cooled by the integrated internal coolant system. It can also accommodate external water cooling for higher power applications
With increased focus on emission reductions comes an increased interest in electrified work functions that rely on batteries and motors for power instead of diesel engines. Parker Chelsea has responded by engineering two integrated ePTO series that can be installed on BEV or hybrid-electric vehicles: the e910 Series and the e970 Series. Both models are designed to maximize run time and optimize efficiency.
With the market moving toward battery electric technology, Chelsea is prepared to maintain its leadership position in the power take-off market. The Chelsea market-facing team performed extensive interviews with chassis OEMs, body builders, and end customers to understand their system requirements, including power, voltage, load, safety interlocks, space claims, and more. Based on this feedback, the integrated ePTO system was engineered to meet customer needs. The internal cooling system is one of the key engineering breakthroughs of Chelsea ePTOs because it allows lubrication to flow throughout the ePTOs to keep all major subcomponents from overheating. The ePTOs also utilize gears which allow a higher torque capacity while still housed within a more compact frame size.
