Last week, Telugu film star Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N-Convention centre was demolished for allegedly encroaching on over three acres of Timmidkunta lake in Madhapur, Cyberabad.
A sports village belonging to the brother of a former Congress Union minister, several structures built by a leading industrialist, and constructions by leaders across the political spectrum. These are among several “illegal” buildings that have been demolished by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency – known popularly as Hydra – in the two months of the body’s existence.
