Guyanese Roat || Rote || Lord Hanuman Sweet || Jhandi Sweet- Episode 15

Описание к видео Guyanese Roat || Rote || Lord Hanuman Sweet || Jhandi Sweet- Episode 15

Roat is a sweet biscuit fried in ghee that is usually made for Jhandis or Hindu prayer services. It is made as an offering to Lord Hanuman, who is the symbol of strength and energy. This recipe isn't the healthiest, but a piece of roat and some tea is one of the best things ever. It is something special to make once in a while. The outside of the roats are dark brown and crunchy, and when you break into them they are flaky and moist in the interior. As always if you were making this for prayers you would want to use a "clean" pot and spoon or utensils that have never been used to cook meat or meat products. I hope you all enjoy this one!

Ingredients and Measurements:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp. vegetable ghee
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup evaporated or whole milk (you may need more or less depending on your flour)

extra ghee for frying
